Arisiparupu sadam in Tamil | Dal rice recipe | quick meal recipe | Parupusadam

Ingredients :
Rice – 2cups
Toor dal – 1/2 or 3/4th cup
Sliced onions – 1cup
Sliced tomatoes – 2
Green chillies – 3
Cumin seeds – 1tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1tsp
Chopped garlic – 1tsp
Hing powder – 1/2tsp
Mustard seeds – 1tsp
Dried red chillies – 3
Curry leaves – 1tsp
Oil – 1tsp

Salt as per taste

Steps :

1. Wash rice and dal and add in the pressure cooker.
2. Add sliced onions, sliced tomatoes, slitted green chillies, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, hing powder, and salt.
3. Add 4 and 1/4 cups of water and mix well.
4. Close the cooker and put the whistle.
5. Pressure cook for 3 whistles on a medium flame.
6. For tempering. Add a spoon of oil and add mustard seeds, dried red chillies, and curry leaves and saute for a minute.
7. Once the pressure is gone, add the tempering along with the cooked rice and mix gently
8. Serve hot. (Can be served with a spoon of ghee)
9. Best to eat with potato fry.
