Quinoa in a Rice Cooker can be a main dish or side dish !!!
I love quinoa , but hate to cook it on the stove. Since, I purchased a rice cooker (Black & Decker brand)- perfect quinoa and rice every time. Quinoa is a kids friendly recipe, great cooking tool for busy moms like me.
1- 2 cups of red quinoa(uncle ben’s brand)
2- 4 cups of cold water
3- 1 tsp of salt
4- 3 tbsps of olive oil
5- 1/2 black pepper (optional)
6- cilantro or basil for garnishing (optional)
7- lemon (optional)
Rinse or wash 2 cups of red quinoa . Add quinoa, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and cold water in the pot. Then stir to mix it well add the lid. Turn on the rice cooker. It will be ready in 28 minutes. Quinoa is a great source of protein and fiber and it can be served as a main dish or a side dish. I usually use deferent brands, the quinoa is so tasty and healthy.
